Dr. Adam Jones

Dr. Jones moved to Albany and joined Radiation Oncology Associates in July 2014. He was raised in Statesboro, GA and attended the University of Georgia where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. He received his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine and his formal training in Radiation Oncology while attending the University of Minnesota. Dr. Jones is a member of the American Society of Therapeautic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) and is board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). He is the leading physician advocate for Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital’s Lung Watch Cancer Screening Program and is past chair of the Georgia Lung Cancer Roundtable. He serves on boards for Georgia CORE and Horizons Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition. He is also an appointed community faculty member for Augusta University, Medical College of Georgia. He and his wife Hailey have two sons, Duncan and Portland, and a daughter Mabel. He enjoys teaching, clinical research and spending time with his family.

Dr. William McAfee

Dr. William “Jay” McAfee was born in Albany and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, majoring in Biology. He earned his medical degree at Medical College of Georgia. He completed a medicine internship at University of Florida College of Medicine at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla and was chief resident during his radiation oncology residency at University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn. Dr McAfee returned back to Albany to join Radiation Oncology Associates, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, in July of 2010. He is a member of the American Society of Therapeautic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) and is board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). Dr. McAfee became Medical Director of the Radiation Oncology Department at PPMH in July of 2016. He also serves on the Board of Directors for PPMH. He and his wife Bethany have two children, Frances and Fort. He enjoys fishing, farming, and spending time with his family.

Andrew Johns, PA-C

Andrew Johns, PA-C, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Medical College of Georgia in 2000. He has been with Radiation Oncology Associates since April of 2005. He and his wife Lindsey have two adult children, Mallory and Hawke. He enjoys exploring Georgia State parks, hiking, woodworking, reading and spending time with his family.

Boyd L. Saunders, NP-C

Boyd has been an oncology nurse since 2013 and began his career in the inpatient setting. He worked 4 years on the inpatient oncology floor where he provided care for acutely ill cancer patients. In 2018, he began working as a navigator in the cancer center where he met newly diagnosed cancer patients and coordinated their care within the medical, surgical and oncology departments. He began working part-time in the radiation oncology office as he furthered his education. Upon graduation, he began working full-time in our office in the summer of 2023 as a nurse practitioner. He currently sees follow-up patients within our clinic as well as assisting in the care for patients undergoing radiation treatment. He and his wife have lived in Albany, Georgia since 2010. They have two young boys ages 7 and 5. He enjoys spending time with his family as well as fishing, quail and deer hunting.

Practice Manager

Ginny Harper

Ginny has been part of the Radiation Oncology team since 2000 and has served as Practice Manager since 2017. She brings more than two decades of experience to her role. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and traveling. She and her husband, Dewayne, also share a passion for flats fishing.
