About Us

Our radiation oncology team brings extensive clinical expertise to the treatment of all adult malignancies. Our scope of care includes, but is not limited to, cancers of the breast; gynecologic organs (cervix, uterus, vagina, vulva); gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, rectum, anus, pancreas); genitourinary tract (bladder, prostate); thorax (lung); soft tissues; head and neck; central nervous system (brain and spine); and skin.

While all of our physicians are trained in the management of pediatric malignancies, we recognize that pediatric oncology is a highly specialized discipline that benefits from dedicated academic focus. Accordingly, we partner closely with our academic colleagues and serve as an extension of their expertise within the community setting.

In addition to malignant disease, we also provide specialized radiation treatment for select benign conditions, including keloids and heterotopic ossification.

We are pleased to announce the recent upgrade of two of our linear accelerators with the installation of matched Elekta Infinity systems. Both units are equipped with state-of-the-art image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) for pretreatment imaging, along with advanced hexapod couch alignment technology. Together with our TomoTherapy platform, these systems represent the most advanced radiation delivery capabilities available in South Georgia.

APEx Accreditation Facility

Get to know our accredited practice.

We are pleased to announce that our facility has been accredited by the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) through APEx – Accreditation Program for Excellence®. APEx is an accreditation program developed by ASTRO that validates a radiation oncology facility’s excellence in delivering high-quality patient care. Accreditation through APEx is a voluntary and rigorous multi-step process during which a facility’s practices are evaluated using consensus-based standards. A facility must demonstrate its safety and quality processes and that it adheres to patient-centered care by promoting effective communication, coordinated treatments, and strong patient engagement. Our facility has demonstrated those processes and continues to engage them in our patients’ care. Learn more about how accredited facilities such as ours use the process of accreditation to benefit patients and find additional educational materials on radiation therapy treatment on the ASTRO patient information site, RTAnswers.org.
